    HOW SHOULD I PREPARE?

    Ensure you are well hydrated before class and avoid eating a heavy meal within 2 hours before class. Other than that, come along with an open mind and willingness to try!

    WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

    • Yoga mat - we rent mats for £3. You can also purchase new Yogamatters mats for £20.
    • Two towels; one to place on mat and one if showering afterwards.
    • WATER (which you can take into studio).
    • Wear light, comfortable shorts/leggings and vest top. 

    We ask all members to wear a mask when entering the building. You can take your mask off once set up in your designated space in the studio.

    HOW WILL I COPE WITH THE HEAT?

    Breath - the heat is your friend. The HOT CLASSIC sequence does provide a cardio workout and it is normal to feel under pressure in the heat. It is perfectly okay to sit on your mat for as long as you need and rejoin when you're ready. You will quickly acclimatise to the heat and come to love it.

    HOW DIFFICULT IS THE YOGA?

    Hot Classic is an energetic, challenging practice with each posture designed to suit all abilities. The continual instruction from the teacher will ensure you have the correct alignment and breath and will support you through each posture. Do as much as you can. No judgements will be made in the studio. Your best is always good enough. 

    AM I TOO OLD?

    No. This is Yoga for Everyone. One of the Directors started on his 65th birthday - he now feels like he's 40!

    HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME?

    As often as you can but we recommend 3 times a week. The more you practise the quicker you will feel the benefits.

    WHERE CAN I PARK?

    We have parking for up to 12 cars and 8 bikes.

    Other car parks are immediately adjacent at £1.70 for 2 hours. Main station Public Transport (Rail and Bus) are literally just a few minutes walk away. Check out our directions page for more information!

    WHAT IF I’M PREGNANT?

    Firstly, congratulations!

    As with any yoga it is recommended not to practice yoga during your first trimester. The NHS recommends not taking up new exercises during pregnancy however If you already have a yoga practice then you could continue to practice yoga past the first trimester listening to your body, paying careful attention to water intake and an awareness that your balance can be affected during pregnancy and that certain poses are not recommended whilst pregnant. 

    With our Hot classes it is always down to the individual women to make their own choice in life, however we would remind you that for our hot yoga sessions the room is heated to 40 degrees and there is some research which suggests heat is not beneficial to pregnancies. Clients always come to classes being responsible for their own health and well being. Please tell the teacher you are pregnant before you attend any physical exercise class. 

    WHAT IF I’M INJURED?

    Please bring your injury to the attention of the class teacher beforehand, and they will advise.

    They may be able to offer alternative postures or variations to help.

    If you’re careful and don’t push the injury (listen to your body); then the classes will aid recovery, help with scar tissue, etc.
