  • Our Hot Classic is inspired by the Ghosh Yoga Lineage.

    Ghosh Yoga is fundamentally based around using therapeutic exercises to achieve optimum health in the physical body and stillness in the mind - a practice for everyone.

    Ghosh Yoga is a yoga tradition first practiced and taught by Bishnu Charan Ghosh beginning in the early 1900s. Although this tradition begins with him, it’s roots can be traced back through even earlier texts and philosophies.

  • An overarching phrase or mantra that can define Ghosh Yoga is: Posture. Stillness. Breath. In this practice we use stillness during and after each posture to create a tension and releasing effect.

    It is in the stillness that we experience ourselves in the present moment.

  • By increasing the temperature of the body we increase our heart rate, blood flow, bringing oxygen to the muscles and improving circulation. Stretching warm muscles is easier, safer and more effective.

    We use conscious breathing to anchor our mind /body connection and in doing so we keep the mind calm and relaxed whilst the body in being challenged.

    Heat can help relax injured muscles, heal damaged tissues and improve flexibility. Not only can heat calm pain flare-ups, but it is an excellent way to soothe muscle tension, stiffness and even chronic back pain.
